Abstract:
This research explores racism; its concept, causes, impact, and treatment in the Holy Quran. It defines racism, outlines its negative effects on society, and presents its manifestations, causes, and remedies in the Holy Quran. The research follows the inductive and descriptive approaches to clarify the impact of racism on society and its treatment. The research plan consists of an introduction, three topics, and a conclusion. The first topic discusses the concept of racism, which is divided into three sections: its definition linguistically and terminologically, related terms, and forms of racism. The second topic examines, in two sections, the manifestations and causes of racism in the Quran. The third topic explores, in two sections, the impact of racism on society and its treatment in the Quran. The research concludes by highlighting key findings, including: the term “racism” is a contemporary concept not found in ancient language dictionaries. It refers to a belief based on a myth contradictory to true religion and correct science, about the superiority or inferiority of certain races, attempting to justify aggressive policies against humanity, based on rape, terrorism, and enslavement. Among the adverse effects of racism on society are the deterioration of mental health, negative economic impact, deprivation of rights, spread of strife and hatred, wars, forced displacement, genocide, and the collapse of states and civilizations based on racism and racial segregation. The most important recommendations include: formulating scientific and practical curricula in educational institutions, fostering knowledge and values that reject racism, and elucidating its detrimental effects on society.
